CHAMPION GHOSTMARS GREA MISCHIEFMAKER, JH, NSD, NRD, V

Ivana has done everything we have asked of her and then some!  In October 2004 Nikki entered Ivana in her first Hunt Test. Nikki cut Ivana off her leash and unfortunately, Ivana never left Nikki's side!  She walked next to Nikki the entire time -- it was a $25 walk in the woods!!!  Her scores were 4 for Hunting and 0 for Bird Finding and Pointing, with an 8 for trainability!!!  So they went home without a ribbon. Back they went in March 2005 and when Ivana went off leash, she plowed through the back course, entered the bird field, put her nose to the ground and shortly thereafter went on rock solid point. One leg down!  The following day, it was a repeat performance with a second leg down scoring straight 9's (out of 10)!  The following weekend, Nikki and Ivana picked up the third leg and the weekend after that - the fourth leg!  Four straight tests!!  A new AKC Junior Hunter!!

Earning both of her WCA Ratings were natural, too!  Ivana's Novice Shooting Dog rating was earned the following Spring 2006 on her first attempt.  The Novice Retrieving Dog rating requires two retrieves one from land and one from water.  While it sounds easy, the water retrieve involves retrieving a duck.  Since we couldn't find any ducks to train with prior to the ratings, Ivana had to do the retrieve without any prior experience.  And she did!  She brought that duck straight back to Nikki and gave it to her!

So what was left but the show ring.  It was agreed that Ivana would enter some dog shows. If she enjoyed being shown, then maybe she would be able to complete her AKC Bench Championship.  In November and December of 2005, she did a few shows and seemed to enjoy being in the show ring, earning some placements but no points!  When the weather warmed up, Ivana hit the shows again beginning in March 2006. Off to Tar Heel Circuit in North Carolina for 6 shows - she came home with 5 points!  Then the Harrisburg circuit two weeks later for 4 shows - she came home with 9 points, including back to back majors!  One week later, Ivana went Winners Bitch at the Weimaraner Club of the Washington, D.C. Area's Spring Specialty for a 5 point major!  She finished with 19 Bench points, including 3 major wins!!  That gave her the WCA Versatile Rating - which is only achieved by competing and earning titles in at least three separate venues (Bench, Obedience, Field, Retriever Dog Excellence, Tracking, Agility).  Thank you Miss Peggy for handling Ivana to her Bench Championship!!
