We are very happy to announce that Dade won Best of Opposite Sex and Best of Winners on May 19th at the Mattaponi Kennel Club show in Manassas, VA and was awarded his 15th bench point. Mischief’s O Saudade de Arpoador is now a registered AKC Champion at the young age of only 15 months! He was shown in the Bred by Exhibitor class, which means his breeder Janet was in the ring with him. She is overjoyed to have been there and lead him through the process of getting the 15th!
Dade has had an incredible career thus far, winning back-to-back majors, Best in Sweeps, and taking 2nd place in the Puppy Sporting Group! He was bred by Jim and Janet Meyer of Mischief Weimaraners of Pasadena, Maryland from their own home-grown champion Lucy (CH Mischief’s Tail of Two Cities, JH) and River (CH Northwoods A River Runs Through It) of Phil & Heidi Warren’s Northwoods Weimaraners. Dade’s lineage includes such notable weimaraners as Ethan (BISS CH Silversmith Ethan Allen, SH, NSD) and Maestro (BISS CH Nani’s Concert Master, SH, BROM). Dade is the first champion of Mischief’s and Northwood’s next generation.
More important to us, though, is Dade’s sweet personality. Despite being in his “difficult teenage years” he continues to be as lovable as the day we brought him home. While putting-on a good show for guests with his displays of machismo and bravado, at 65 pounds he will still crawl into our laps, front legs and head over the legs, to be petted while sleeping. His great intelligence continually amazes us (and frustrates us as it is very hard to make him forget a toy you don’t want him to have) and his comedic tendencies and playful nature make him a joy to live with.
Now that the bench championship is finished, Dade will move on to hunting and obedience training. The fun stuff! Thanks for all your support during these first stages of his career!
