Even though our grey kids leave home as puppies, they always remember to write us and let us know how things are going.  As you will see, sometimes they get into trouble...but they know that Grandma and Grandpa will always love them no matter what!

G'ma Janet & G'pa Jim:  OK, you know the limo with my own crate and comfy bed takes me to Leesburg every week for Agility classes....well, the second daddy came to watch me this week in class. I showed off and made the first daddy run like hell to catch me. He didn't catch me and I bolted through the wall of the ring and jumped in my other daddy's lap. I've never had courses like this past week! They said they were designed like a show that the trainers went to last week. OMG! If this is what competition is like....well, I'm going to have fun with my daddy running all over hell's creation. We have a lot of work do do before he embarrasses us both. I'm doing fine out there...he looks like he is going to have a heart attack! You might want to give him some pointers. They took a video....pathetic! Just pathetic!  Lotsalove, Saudade

p.s. Tell, Finley, Abby and Maggie I wanna go swimmin'

We did it, with the help of the pooches of course. Our photographer sent us a teaser photo. We should have more photos soon which I will share. I made feather collars for the dogs, which you can kinda see here. Wally was also more interested in the birds down the way than in the picture.

Congratulations John and Amanda!!

Grandma Janet & Grandpa Jim, You have to come get me - look what they did to me!

Oh - and I ate Matthew's plastic recorder, an abc book, and half of a grill cheese and some pickles today. I'm on Mommy's shit   list whatever that means. I'm doing good otherwise. When are you coming to a dog show up this way? I can always use extra hugs from someone who "understands" me. Love Merlin
PS: I have my eye on the fat cat for snack tomorrow

Just checking in - Merlin is doing well, other than eating a few of Matthew's books, and the occasional Lego he's been a couch potato since it got cold.

This is gross but funny - we took him to a pet expo, he was having a great time - getting treats, pets, compliments on how gorgeous he is.....then we got to the aisle with a rescue zoo - Merlin went up to check out the Ostrich and it spit on him. There were probably 15 other dogs walking by and the ostrich was fine, it was just Merlin he didn't like for some reason. Which brings me to what happen that same night.........

Merlin got a bath against his will - Vinnie was in the tub stradling him, I had him in a headlock from outside the tub and we had Matthew petting his head talking to him. It was awful, he howled and cried the second his toe hit the water, Vinnie put warm soap suds on him he added groaning, we rinsed him he added tapp dancing, we dried him with towels he added diving into the door to get out - it was pathetic! Vinnie said he's more of a drama king at the vet's office. For a big muscular guy he's such a wimp!

We had an easy trip back with the dogs asleep in the back, and now they are snoring loudly on the couch.  Ava on her heating pad, of course.  Little does Wally know that he's in for a bath later.

She's my bionic, amazing Ava!

February 3, 2008

Dear G-Pah Janet and G-Pah Jim:

Today is my 2nd birthday. Both daddies tell me that I am no longer a puppy after today and that I'm a big boy. I'm so excited to be a big boy! I've heard them talking about birds, agility and more classes. I'm really excited about the spring and going out in the field and also swimming.

Today has been a great day!!! First I got up early and ate and then crawled back into bed to snuggle. They only let me do this on the weekends now. Then we all moved to the sofa and I did more cuddling there. After that, one of my daddies made me pup-cakes and the other one was making a turkey for dinner. Boy, I hope I get some!!! I love birds.

It seemed like a typical weekend, but all of the sudden I got 3 bags of presents for my birthday! I got a new Kong, a Moo Cow - - kinda like Froggie, my favorite cuddle toy, and then Saul the Snake from Brooklyn (they say he is from the mafia). He is fun to play running up and down the hallway.

THEN......I got 2 pup-cakes with candles and everything. I was a good boy and sat for pictures. I overheard Daddies saying that they were going to send out the photos. The pupcakes are so good. I'm going to try to sneak a couple later today.....they are on the counter.

So, whew, then we went out to the park and I ran and ran and swam and played with sticks. Guess what? They let me mark everything!!!! I found the scent of a girl at one point. I like girls.

Oh and I forgot, yesterday we were at class and I got to play with lots of doggies. I'm doing really well in class. They have lots of big dogs and I'm trying to be the big-man-on-top, but one of the daddies doesn't like that and makes me submit to the other dogs when I get crazy. Can you imagine that, me going crazy? Whodathunk?

Anyway, we are all waiting for the turkey to finish and I hope I get some.

I want to thank you for being so nice to my daddies and giving them all the help that they need to raise me proper-like. The two of you are wonderful grandparents and I'm glad to be in the Mischief family.

It's almost time for dinner and I have to get in a nap, but wanted to say hi.   Look for photos. All my loving fishy kisses, Saudade

Poor Milo... you KNOW Indy stole that piece of cookie cake!!

So, It's my birthday and I get this awesome cookie cake.. My favorite!   There is just one piece left and it's for my dinner.  We put it up  high... really high on the counter... on top of the toaster.  After  dinner I go to get it.... it's gone... I mean completely gone... plate  upside down... no crumbs... and Miss Indigo is NOT talking, but  neither is she anywhere near the kitchen,  She's sleeping on the  bed... and she is too small to reach up that high, but Milo  Hmmmmm...  that little counter surfing thief!  He doesn't even look sorry... just  content.  But my cookie cake is history!  Good thing I LOVE that dog!   He's sleeping on the extra bed and very happy, indeed!

Grandma Janet & Grandpa Jim,

Help! I'm in trouble!

First......I swear on a box of dog bones I didn't do it!!!!  This Weimaraner came in my back door, jumped on the counter and ate the tops off an entire tray of fresh baked brownies (cooled to perfection), the tray slid  into the sink, made a loud noise and I went to check it out - (that other dog ran out the window) and that's how I was framed! I'm innocent! I was in the wrong place at the wrong time!

I'm pretty sure my parents are going to let me stay, after all - I really entertain the kid and I clean up after him and they already paid for my obedience school.  I start school tomorrow, Brandy told me they teach you to be good all the time, sounds boring to me.  OH - if I hear "go do what Brandy's doing" or "pick one thing Brandy does and do that" one more time, I'm running away!

Love Innocent Merlin

Here are a couple of pixs of the "Girls" from this summer in Ontario

As Weimaraner Grandparents, we just don't believe this one!!

Hi Janet,

Just wanted to get your opinion.  Lately Murphy hasn't been responding nearly as well to 'Come'.  He will sit there and stare at me, but he won't come.  This is especially true when we have been playing outside and it's time to go in.  It's also often true when I want him to come from one part of the house to another part.

Is this normal?  Is he going through some sort of rebellious / 'let's see who is in charge' type of phase?

We don't believe this photo, either - we think his Dad used Photoshop!
